We have worked on some of Newcastle and the Hunter region’s most recognisable events including: Groovin the Moo, Hunter Rescue Ball, Façon Spring Runway at the Newcastle Museum and multiple community carol events.

Dr Trevor Mallard: Managing Director
Trevor created Equip Multimedia to allow small organisations, churches and schools access to the best audio-visual production in the Newcastle and Hunter region. 25 years later Trevor still has the customer’s best interests at heart. He has installed in his team the same principles he started the business with back in 1985: to work hard, to over deliver and to ensure the success of each and every event. Thanks to these core values, Equip Multimedia is now one of Newcastle’s leading audio-visual production companies. Trevor has always believed in helping others, no matter the field, and is also a cardiologist.
Justin Mason: Event and Operations Manager
Justin prides himself on working with a client from concept to creation and beyond. He enjoys bringing his client’s vision to life and exceeding their expectations. With more than seven years in the industry and a certificate III in events, he has the experience and expertise to work on projects ranging from small boardroom functions to large festivals. Justin has worked with a variety of clients including schools, churches, Groovin the Moo and has worked extensively in the fashion industry. Justin also likes to explore his creativity through his photography.
Claudia Liebenberg: Communications Manager
Claudia has worked across a variety of industries, from corporate medical services to fashion, media and events. She has an adaptable communications style and experience in marketing, public relations, events, copywriting, editorial and advertising. With a natural flair for words, Claudia enjoys feature writing and writes regularly for fashion magazine, Façon. Prior to moving to Newcastle, she was a commercial reporter at News Corp. Claudia holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in marketing and an advanced diploma in management. She is currently undertaking a diploma in photography.
Nathan Wiggs: Sound Engineer
Nathan’s career in audio visual production commenced as a passion for live sound in high school and over the past 15 years he has finessed his trade and is now a qualified sound engineer. From coordinating events from bump-in to bump-out, troubleshooting systems and coordinating sub-hires and show budgets, Nathan is a natural problem solver and no job is too big or small for his expertise. Nathan holds a Certificate III in Live Production and Services from NIDA. He has stage managed events from school productions to large scale gatherings with more than 8,000 attendees.
Nathan is also a high school teacher and is passionate about helping young children reach their potential.
Callan Lindgren: Vision Technician
Callan has four years experience working in the production industry, with a special interest in lighting and video. He holds a certificate III and diploma in production and services, along with a OH&S whitecard. Callan has worked across a full spectrum of lighting events, from intimate church settings to large festivals, including NYE in the Park, Sydney 2018.
Jacob Samuel: Lighting Designer
Jacob has been part of the Equip Multimedia team for more than five years. He is skilled in creative lighting and design and has worked on an array of jobs including festivals, runways and concerts. Jacob has a Certificate III in Entertainment and has a creative flair for production. Jacob is multi-skilled when it comes to events and understands all the elements involved in putting on a world-class show.
